Music Can Be Used For Therapy

Music is used in many ways everyday for different purposes. One way music can be used is for therapeutic use. Music can be used in a therapeutic way because it can calm you down and allow you to let loose and forget about the things that make you upset.

Many people use music for therapy purposes, and it helps everyone in a different way. For some people, it may calm them down. For others, it might help them sleep, write, etc.

People also may use music to help them with daily activities. Senior Azul Bellot uses music for her daily activities, like driving. She said, “When I’m going home, I listen to the radio because it helps me drive better. It helps me get into a better mood.”

For some people, just listening to music may not help sometimes. If that doesn’t help, people can do different activities while they are listening to music. Bellot said, “I write poetry, lay down, or play music when I’m going to sleep.”

Some people may like one type of song artist and genre because that’s the only music that can actually calm them down, while others like many different genres and artists. Bellot said her favorite artist is, “Ruel because his music is very calming and I have been listening to him for a while. He is my safe space.” For junior Queen Cole, the rap genre is her go-to. The artists she listens to most when she’s stressed are “Future, Lil Baby, and Nicki.”
