Snow days no more

Recently, the Dover Area School District applied for and was approved for Flexible Instructional Days (FIDS). These instructional days will only happen in lieu of snow days of years passed. As a result, we do not have to make up the days at the end of the year. The main reason why the district applied is to assist in keeping the construction project on track. The work students will be doing will be given to them by the teachers the day before. Then the students can email their teachers on the FID with questions. Superintendent Tracy Krum said, “FIDS will allow us to have school, but stay home on snow days. Our hope is that the use of FIDS will allow us to reduce our snow make up days.” She also said it will be good for the students to have an online learning experience.
