Homecoming king and queen named

Homecoming King and Queen: Thomas Smyser and Clare Mailey.

On Sept. 29, our Homecoming King and Queen were announced before the football game. King and Queen went to Thomas Smyser and Clare Mailey.

For the girls, our court consisted of seniors Cameryn Lunsford, Meredith Sefchick, Clare Mailey, Jenna Davis, and MaryAlice Craig. For the boys our court consisted of PoHan Miller, Aiden Shepro, Thomas Smyser, Carter Gregoire, and Carter Fennen.

Mailey was flattered to just be on court, but that wasn’t all she felt. She said, “Although it was exciting to be voted on to court, there was a good amount of pressure and nerves that went along with it as well.” It was also very stressful behind the scenes with having to be ready and prepared for each event.

Mailey thinks the nomination and recognition means she’s doing the right things. “Being named homecoming queen really helped show me what all I had accomplished in a year, and proved to myself that I really had changed my life for the better.”
