Junior cornerback Phil Ford was nominated for Pennsylvania State Athlete of the Week after a performance to remember against rival West York last Friday, with three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball and two point pass completion to make the final score 33-7.

He was beyond thrilled with his performance on Friday. Ford said,”Rivalry games are always fun, and I was just feeling ready to get the job done. Many things were going through my head, especially just wanting to win. Also seeing as it was my best game of the season with three interceptions, I was definitely on cloud nine.”

Ford has had quite the season with 4 interceptions, 23 tackles, 20 assisted tackles and 43 total tackles.

Dover had a record of 1-9 last year and this year they were able to flip their record to 8-2 with a win percentage of 81%. With the record they had, they qualified for district playoffs for the first time in ten years and will face the ten seed Garden Spot.
