Europe Trip Planned for Students

Several of the classes and extra curricular programs at the high school offer students the opportunity to travel. Recently, students who have taken two years of any language were offered the chance to visit Barcelona, Spain and Provence, France among other European destinations.

French teacher Katie Lokka is leading this trip in 2024. “I am personally looking forward to re-visiting Spain and France. I have not been since 2016. I have also never been to Italy, and I’m really looking forward to that new experience, as well.”

The date of the trip is June 10-19, 2024. The cost you’d have to pay is $4920 per participant. Lokka said, “As soon as we have enough paying participants, we will begin fundraising. This trip was scheduled two years in advance to give students and families time to save and pay for the trip.”

Lokka thinks the cost is a reasonable one. “The cost of the trip will pay for breakfast and dinner each day; lunch will need to be paid out of pocket,” she said.

Freshman Carter Hoffman has decided to go on the trip to Europe. “It would be fun. I have never been to Europe,” He seems pretty hopeful about this trip and can’t wait to go. Hoffman has said that he’ll need to fundraise money in order to go to Europe.

There’s a lot that he’s looking forward to when going, “I’m looking forward to trying their food.” During the free time he will have during the trip he’s looking to go shopping. “Probably will buy a keychain, cup, shirt, or maybe glasses, or pants,” he said.

He wants to go to Rome the most. “I want to see all the monuments there.”

“I’m really looking forward to that new experience, as well. I can’t wait to share these experiences with students, and allow them to dig into the cultural experiences of language, art and food,” said Lokka.
