On Friday, Oct. 14 the Eagles got the better of the Dallastown Wildcats in a 28-25 thriller.

Senior running back Gavin Mullins made a huge impact on the offensive side of the ball. He had a night to remember with 34 carries for 176 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Mullins averages 109.8 rushing yards and 37 receiving yards a game. Mullins also plays on the defensive side of the ball at safety and has 22 solo tackles, 45 assisted tackles and 3 interceptions this season.

Mullins emphasizes this season was a comeback season for Dover and that it felt great to prove the doubters wrong. He said, “From last year’s record 1-9 to this years 6-2, just shows how much we strive to be better and it proves it… Last year, we fell short to them and lost by two touchdowns and for us to go out this year and beat them was great. Especially, with all of the people saying we would lose.”

Head coach Wanye Snelbaker believes this year’s seniors have persevered through many tough losses to get where they are. He said, “When our seniors leave, we will miss the vocal leadership… They stuck together through two tough seasons and have persevered to believe that they are winners.”

Though this game marks the last home game of the regular season, the Eagles look forward to the rivalry game at West York to end the regular season.
