Dover Eagles junior quarterback Aric Campbell was nominated for athlete of this week after his stellar performances these past Friday nights.

Head coach Wayne Snelbaker sees Campbell as a leader despite this being his first year in the starting role. He said, “Aric has improved on his leadership skills as well as his reading defensive coverages better.”

Snelbaker is extremely proud of how far Campbell has come this season, to the point where he got recognized for his achievements, which Snelbaker feels Campbell deserves. Snelbaker said, “Aric deserved to be nominated for athlete of the week. He has worked hard to become better and should be recognized for his achievements on the field.”

Getting nominated for athlete of the week is huge for athletes, but Campbell sees it as an opportunity to keep driving even harder for more success and lead the team to even more victories. Campbell said, “Honestly I didn’t really care. It’s just onto the next game for me, but I guess it’s dope.”

The success Dover has had with Campbell under center has been phenomenal so far. The team will face Kennard Dale this Friday at the Rams stadium.
