Dover Takes on Rock

This year for the Dover Area High School band, they have decided to take on a rock n’ roll theme.

Band director George Bradshaw said, “It’s been a few years since we did a rock music show, and we thought it was the perfect time for this type of show.”

The band this year has been working on their pieces since last May. Sophomore Cooper Schade says, “What I enjoy about the theme for this year is how fun it is. I am incredibly happy we picked this theme.”

Many of the students in Dovers band think the theme for this year is exciting and different from the other years. “I haven’t met one person in the band who doesn’t like it. All the songs are amazing and Bradshaw made a perfect choice for this year’s show,” said sophomore Faith Dacheux.

The band will be playing a total of about 33 different songs this year. The show will also include the TikTok viral song, “It’s Corn!” Schade said, “It took me about one to two days to learn this music piece because of how simple it was.”

The students and Bradshaw got the idea to play this song because of how popular it’s been on TikTok recently. “We wanted to play this song because it is so familiar to our students,” said Bradshaw.

Despite its large size, the band feels like a family to its members. “I love all the people and the feeling of being a part of something great,” said Schade.
