ECYEH Week

Madelyn Reed, Editor-in-Chief

November 16 – 21 is the Educating Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) Awareness Week. During this week, we recognize the pervasiveness of Homelessness in the Dover communities and schools.

In the Dover Area School District last year, 79 students were qualified as homeless. This week, and through December 11th, we are going to support our Dover families and raise money for this cause!

Each year SADD hosts an event at Dover to help show awareness for our students that are struggling. The goal of SADD is to help students make positive decisions that advance their health and safety. DHS’ SADD mission is to empower students to successfully confront the risks and pressures that challenge them, throughout their daily lives.

SADD is collecting change for the homeless families in Dover from 11/16 until 12/11 at lunches. The lunch that raises the most money will receive a FREE ice cream treat!

Don’t forget to participate in spirit week for ECYEH. The spirit days are as follows:

Monday: Wear red

Tuesday: Wear mismatched clothing

Wednesday: Dress up as your favorite storybook or movie character

Thursday: Wear sweatpants

Friday: Dover spirit day
