Are you interested in horror and real-life scary events? If so, you should watch the Watts Family Tragedy.
Unless you are under the age of 14, this show is a must-watch for true-crime lovers, as it shows real evidence from the murderers and gives us real photos, videos and screenshots to envision what is happening.
The disappearance of a pregnant Colorado woman, Shanann Watts, and her two daughters shocked the nation in 2008, while her husband didn’t want to get the cops involved. Her friend, Nickole Atkinson, tried calling her the day after their girls’ trip, and Watts didn’t answer, so Atkinson went over to her house. The lights were off, her car was in the garage, and her shoes were by the door. That’s when Atkinson noticed that something was wrong, and she texted Watts’s husband, Chris. Atkinson said, “hey, we can’t get ahold of her, it’s really strange.” He said, “Yeah, she’s fine. She went to a friend’s house with the kids.”
A neighbor with a security system saw Chris Watts backing his truck bed into the garage at 5 a.m. on the camera. He was later taken to the police station to talk to investigators. Chris said he never cheated on Shanann, when there’s photo evidence that he was having an affair while Shanann and the girls were in North Carolina. He agreed to take a polygraph test to see if he was lying about her disappearance.
He later admitted he had an affair. Chris asked them to bring his father, Ronnie, into the room and told him that Shanann was the one who hurt the kids, so he hurt her. That’s when he apologized to the investigators. After being shown the picture of the crime scene, Chris Watts marked the locations with the first letter of their names to indicate where the bodies of Shanann and his daughters could be found. Shanann’s body was in a field. Their daughters, Bella and CeCe, were in two different oil tanks.
I think that the best part of the documentary is that he goes to jail. Also, he is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. There was no reason he had to do that to his wife and kids, all because he was scared of her leaving when he was the one who cheated on her. I think he definitely deserves his punishment and shouldn’t ever be let out of prison. In this case, justice was served.
