Eagles blast Bobcats

The Eagles beat the Northeastern Bobcats 35-6 last Friday at Northeastern. The Eagles started off hot out of the gates by scoring within the first five minutes of the first quarter. They held the Bobcats to only six points and barely any offensive yards the whole game.

Sophomore linebacker Reese Husson said, “With the game we had on Friday, we will go far this season. Everyone works so hard, and the team is so much more connected than ever before and we have each other’s back.”

Husson had his first varsity interception in the game. He said, “I felt amazing when I had my interception. The momentum shifted to our side, and I felt I helped the team out the best I could.”

Coach Peter Bowen assisted with the win on Friday. Bowen highlights that this season we will be more competitive, and the team is more confident. Bowen said, “We will be extremely competitive. Our team expects to win, we just need to stay focused each week to prepare for our opponent.”

The student section was also packed despite being an away game. Many people came to support the team. At times, the Eagle student section was louder than Northeastern’s student section. Chants of  “shake your booty!” and “I can’t hear you!” could be heard when the Eagles would score.
