It’s natural that students would want to work hard and focus on their school work to get a better outcome in the future. However, being noticed by teachers that are seeing students accomplish things throughout the year lets the students know their hard work pays off.

Grace Nazario, a junior, was selected for student of the month back in her freshman year. Recently, she was selected again during her junior year. She feels that it’s an honor for different teachers to notice how much effort she puts in her work and that they’re able to witness her accomplishments. Being selected student of the month is an honor and achievement. I think is something that we cannot really control, but more like a recognition that any student would be honored to have based on their hard-work and efforts,” said Nazario.

Amaya Kilburn, a junior, was also named February Student of the Month. This is her first time receiving this award in her high school career. “I feel proud of myself. We all go through times where we wanna give up and not give our one hundred percent effort, so I hope that in the future that proud feeling I have now can motivate me. I also feel validated, in the way that other people recognize the work I put in and it just reminds me to keep working hard,” said Kilburn. She was shocked that out of all the hard working students who were in her classes, she was recognized by her teachers.

Being noticed by their hard work and efforts shows how teachers really pay attention and that they appreciate their students.
