PA Preferred Days have started in Dover with fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables coming straight from local farms. These days started last year in a large district of Philadelphia. Helen Heidler said, “This summer while attending a School Nutrition conference in July they asked for districts who would be interested in hosting a PA Preferred Day. This is when the planning began.” She got to work contacting our local farms, trying to incorporate as much nutrition education as possible. More of these days can be expected in the future for the students here in Dover.
