Parents Take DAHS Prom Into Their Own Hands

Miah Arevalo, Staff Writer

Due to Covid-19, these last two school years have been crazy, especially for the senior class. Students haven’t been getting the normal senior experiences they deserve. Prom is a memorable event that culminates the senior year. Uncertain of this year’s prom plan, three Dover senior parents came together to throw a semi-normal prom. Lauren Mumma’s mom, Karen; Cayla Lippert’s mom, Amie; and Brooke Johnson’s mom, Bobby Jo, all came together for a parent-sponsored prom.

They wanted to give juniors and seniors a chance at a normal prom. This prom will be held on May 15th, 2021, at Wisehaven Event Center. The tickets will be sold until sold out. Tickets are $50.00 and include a buffet dinner, drinks, dessert, and a professional DJ. There will be a professional photographer there as well. This event also will follow the same guidelines as a school related function typically would. Cayla Lippert, says “I feel very excited that we are getting the opportunity to have some sort of normal event this year; I am thankful for it.”
