High school to host mini THON

Dover will be holding its biannual mini thon for Four Diamonds on April 6th-7th.

‘This is our 10th year,” said Mrs.Miller With the experience of organizing this for 10 years straight it makes it a lot easier to deciding what needs to be done. The mini thon was first introduced to the staff back in 2007, making Dover one of the first York county schools to do a mini thon.

Dover may not reach its goal, but they sure still do raise a good amount of money and donate it to Four Diamonds. “Four Diamonds is such a wonderful cause that does a lot of good at Hershey Medical Center which is close to us.”

Four Diamonds is very helpful to families, my sister’s daughter Joanna was diagnosed with leukemia when she was three.  She was helped by Four Diamonds. She now beat cancer. Joanna is now in 1st grade, strong and healthy. Every participant’s contribution counts.

Dover usually has around 300-400 students participate. Participation in mini thon counts for all  community service hours for students’ graduation requirements.
